Welcome to: The CARE Team, also known as: Fuge Family Practice. Dr LaDonna Fuge came to work first at Forbes Hospital, in 1985 and has worked locally ever since. She trained at Hahnemann University Medical School in Philadelphia, PA now known as Drexel. She is Board Certified in Family Medicine and received her Fellow of Family Practice certification in 1994. She has taught Medical Students for Pitt (UPMC) Medical School since they began offering Ambulatory or Family Medicine as well as working with Resident Family Practice doctors in Monroeville campus of West Penn. 'Teaching keeps us update on the latest advances for our patients and helps guarantee good clinicians will be in all of our families futures.' A wife, mother and living on a small working farm in Plum, Dr Fuge emphasizes that: 'the patient comes first!' Still she makes time for other ways of 'giving back' to the community: through Church; representing patient and clinician views and needs by monthly input at Highmark; and through Medical Staff leadership. Dr. Fuge has served more than 10 years as Chairman of Family Practice at Forbes (through June 2005) & previously served as Medical Director and President of the Medical Staff at Forbes. 'If we do not step up and speak up for our patients and each other, who will?'
In 1998, The CARE Team came into existence as the fruition of a dream of a special place to work and care for patients and families. Dr. LaDonna Fuge, along with staff members from her 3 local offices joined in one office to better focus CARE for their patients. Centrally located at building #3 in Penn Center on route 22, just down from Monroeville Mall, Fuge Family Practice has worked to be able to take most ANY local insurance- 'Just ask us, we will see what we can do for you!'
Committed to Caring is NOT just the name of our Newsletter, IT IS WHAT WE STAND FOR. Doing patient care for all ages from one day to more than 100 years of age, we are Family Centered: offering Women's Health; special attention to Pediatric and Adolescent needs; Preventative services, Well & Sick care for both Men and Women- young to geriatric. Office GYN and Minor surgery are offered, along with MANY other services by appointment with Sr. Carole Blazina, CRNP or Dr.s Fuge or Jana. Dr. Jana joined The CARE Team of Fuge Family Practice in 2003. We tease that we 'stole him from West Penn' where he had worked since 2000, even serving as Chief resident of Family Practice. Dr. Rajiv Jana was born and raised in Western Pennsylvania, as well as attending Medical School in PA. An avid Steeler fan, he is a family man, having been Blessed with his 2nd lovely daughter in Sept 2004. Board Certified in Family Medicine, he adds Manipulation to The CARE Team's scope of practice.
NCQA (National Committee for Quality Assurance) works with large employers, policy makers, doctors, patients and health plans to decide what is important, how to measure it and how to promote improvement. Physician practices who have met stringent criteria measuring health plan performance are given three-year certification and also receive financial rewards depending on their level of program attainment. 
FUGE FAMILY PRACTICE ACHIEVED THE DIABETES PHYSICIAN RECOGNITION PROGRAM Developed by NCQA and the American Diabetes Association, this program utilizes evidence-based measures to recognize physicians who provide excellent care to their diabetic patients
