Anita Cardone, MD, certified by the American Board of Family Medicine, provides comprehensive health care for all ages at the Center for Family Health Care conveniently located in Penn Hills on Frankstown Road.
Dr. Cardone, a native of the Allegheny Valley, is a seasoned family physician who has enjoyed providing health care within communities surrounding the Pittsburgh area for twenty years.
She established her current practice at the Center for Family Health Care in January of 2001 and plans to remain in practice within the center for the duration of her career.

For the Well Individual:
- Will help you identify your goals for health and well being
- Will work wit you to reach your goals for health and well being
- She understands that your health and well being may need to be assessed within the context of your family
- She understands that your emotional good health will foster your good health and well being
- She will review your past medical history, your family history, your current health and provide you with a risk assessment for disease using current medical knowledge. With this information she will discuss with you ways to prevent disease using lifestyle modification. Also, using this information, she will discuss with you appropriate screening studies to help maintain your health. Always, she will review with you results of screening studies and help you understand what they mean.
For the Individual who becomes acutely ill:
- Appointment same day or within 24-hours
- If this is not possible, a phone discussion with guidance
- Follow-through until you are well again
For the Individual who must manage medical illness such as High Blood Pressure, Diabetes, Lung Disease or Heart Disease:
- She will communicate with your specialty physician(s)
- She will recommend a specialty physician if needed
- Review and order recommended laboratory studies to help you control your medical illness
- Examine you regularly throughout the year at recommended intervals to help you manage your medical illness
For Infants and Children:
- Provides well pediatric physical exams at recommended ages
- Provides all recommended immunizations
- Provides education and promotes discussion on developmental, nutritional, social and emotional aspects of your child’s life
For Adolescents:
- Provides education which emphasizes on helping the adolescent make healthy lifestyle choices
The Center for Family Health Care also provides routine Gynecological care with contraceptive management.
If an individual has a progressive disease which is deteriorating and there is no cure available, she will help family using all resources available:
- She will make home visits
- She works closely with hospice and home health agencies
- She attends to patients at skilled nursing facilities (Beverley Manor in Monroeville and Seneca Place in Verona)
